23 October 2012 - 26 October 2012 glasstec is not only the world‘s largest trade fair for the glass industry and its suppliers but also the most international event. There is no better platform for presenting product innovations, forward-looking processing techniques and new glass applications to trade visitors from around the globe. All of which also means that this world No. 1 event is of equal interest to manufacturers of glass machinery, the glass industry and glass craftsmen.
Nearly 1,300 exhibitors from throughout the world presented their innovations at glasstec 2010 in Düsseldorf in the fields of glass industry, glass machinery and equipment construction as well as the glazier trade. A total of roughly 45,000 trade visitors attended glasstec and the closely related solarpeq, the new trade fair for solar production technology.
Exhibiting firms reported holding many good discussions with high-ranking visitors and anticipate lucrative post-fair business. These included many international contacts. This is also reflected in the findings of the glasstec and solarpeq visitor questionnaires: well over half the visitors travelling to Düsseldorf came from abroad. A significant rise was posted amongst trade visitors from North and, in particular, South America. Almost one in two visitors came with the intention of placing specific orders or had already done so.
