Constant feeding of coal powder to a burner

03 September 2012 - 1204 views

BRILON - A waste disposal company has installed two new burner lines to generate energy from coal powder. Since the different types of coal powder could have very different properties, the operator requires a reliable control system to feed the burner tubes with a defined flow rate (kg/h).

The transmitter vessels had been mounted on 3 stainless steel “Clevermount” - assemblies (weighing range of each load cell = 500kg).

The Clevermount module is equipped with integrated height adjustment and requires no rods or stay bars.

A special electronic with a “loss in weight” software calculates the flow rate and provide a flow proportional 4 - 20mA output to the PLC system. This enables the PLC to regulate the rotary valve at the outlet of the vessel via a frequency converter.

If the level (weight) inside the vessel reaches an adjustable minimum level, the vessel is refilled to the maximum level. The filling rate must be 5 - 10 times higher than the outlet flow.

The required flow rate can be programmed via the keyboard of the loss in weight electronics or via the businterface.
