Cristal sugar grinding for biscuit production line

29 May 2012 - 1239 views

MARCQ EN BAROEUL - For producing the cream of sandwich biscuits it is necessary to grind crystal sugar to make ice sugar. The final particle size must be precise and regular.

Sugar is in the food industry one of the most difficult product to handle. It is explosive, hydroscopic and must be weighed with high accuracy. The design of such a grinding and conveying sugar installation requests experience and specific know how. NEU Process has designed for a world leader in this industry a reliable installation as regards explosion risks and in accordance with the ATEX 94/9 CE regulations.

The crystal sugar is pneumatically conveyed from storage silos to 2 grinding towers in dilute phase (through a rotary valve) under pressure, open loop.

The line is equipped with a vibrating sieving. Without any mechanical part in movement, this equipment limits explosion risks and guarantees an efficient sieving of the product.

An in-depth automation of the system allows measurements and tracing of the flow rates, temperatures as well as air and sugar humidity. It also assures the weighing accuracy.

The NEUBATCH automation solutions for IN TOUCH supervision and the PLC Siemens S7 are remote controlled via internet for assistance and emergency.

The grinding process is fed at a regulated flow rate. This system is flexible and allows the operator to control sugar final particle size. Maintained in movement in the homogenisator the grinded sugar is then precisely dosed.

Another pneumatic conveying at a controlled humidity ratio feeds the cream kneading machine upon request.

This installation presents special configurations issued from NEU Process experience in the food industry and as regards the operators; it is particularly in phase with its targets in terms of high quality of the final product.
