Jervis B. Webb awarded bulk handling contract

30 June 2012 - 858 views

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI - Jervis B. Webb Company announced today a contract with Neumann Systems Group (NSG)  to design a new bulk handling system at Colorado Springs Utilities’ Martin Drake Power Plant.

The system includes a single enclosed gallery truss structure, containing two 24-inch wide Webb belt conveyors. The conveyors will receive gypsum from NSG belt filters and transport the material into a storage structure. The discharge of gypsum onto the storage building floor is managed using Webb supplied telescopic chutes.

Gypsum is a by-product of the emission control system that is being supplied to the Colorado Springs Utilities’ Drake 6 & 7 Power Station.

“Webb has over 50 years of experience designing, manufacturing and installing bulk handling systems,” said Scott Bethke, Webb’s Director of Bulk Material Handling. “We have an established team that consists of highly skilled engineers, project managers and manufacturing executives with decades of industry experience.”

The entire project is scheduled to be completed in 2014.
