New capacitive level limit switch for bulk solids

BETZIGAU - Plant operators are familiar with the challenges of fluctuating processing properties of raw materials, varying operating conditions in silos or pipelines and the requirement for ex-certificates.
Such requirements call for a low cost level limit switch, which will apply to a wide range of applications. Thus, plant operators can save money on upgrading of parts, plant maintenance and spare parts logistics.
The new universal sensor Capanivo ® 4000 from UWT GmbH works in a variety of applications and under the most adverse conditions. It meets the latest IEC 60076 series of standards for explosion protection. Automatical earthing with metal silos because of contact with metal at process connection simplifies installation. Since the sensor is fully integrated in the sensor head, the Capanivo ® 4000 can also be used in non-conductive containers made of plasticor wood. The operating temperature range for the Capanivo is -40 ° C to +180 ° C. The ambient pressure may be in the range -1 to +16 bar. The device is available for supply voltages of 19-230 V AC and 19 to 50 V DC. Plus the CN4000 is suitable for all materials of a dielectric value of > 1.5. Through the ATEX and IEC Ex approvals, the device can be installed in dust and gas explosive environments.
Dependingon the type of output, the signal is via a relay with single or double pole changeover switch and a PNP transistor with open collector output. The process connection of 1½” allows installation in extremely limited spaces or with a range of other connections in the vicinity.
Capanivo® 4000 will be exhibited at Achema in Frankfurt/Germany from 18th to 22nd June (Hall 11, booth E-34). From July 2012, the capacitive level limit switch is available at UWT GmbH.
