Triflex LNI 200, non-intrusive level measurement

07 August 2012 - 901 views

VEGHEL - Fluidwell instruments (FWI) a division of Fluidwell and located in Veghel, The Netherlands, launches Triflex LNI 200, non-intrusive level measurement for continuous profit increase where others fail.

Accurate level measurement of non-conductive bulk materials like liquids, powders, pellets, granulates and other bulk material inside a tank or silo becomes very difficult with low dielectric or highly sensitive materials, harsh environments (pressurized, abrasive, hot and/or corrosive) and /or complicated tanks. The resulting reliability issues have a negative effect on costs and downtime. To solve these problems, Fluidwell Instruments, a division of Fluidwell, launches the Triflex LNI 200, a “Field Time Control” (FTC) based level sensor, which uniquely measures with great reliability from the outside of a non-metallic tank.

Unique in multiple ways
The distinguishing element of the Triflex LNI 200 is its ability to reliably measure even low dielectric materials in a non-metallic tank or silo without having to be present inside that tank and without product contact. The tank itself even does not have to be transparent where the Triflex is attached onto it. Some of the discriminating benefi ts include no risks of contaminating the product, very easy access for maintenance (without process interruption!), suitable for small or complicated tanks, easy plug-and-play installation, suitable for aggressive materials or environments and insensitive to changing process conditions that arise inside a tank. The yield is tremendous: Lower costs, higher output and increase in reliable measurements!

Key applications

It is suitable in a wide range of applications, but especially for industries with extremely low dielectric, non-conductive bulk products (solids and liquids, e.g. fly ash or flour) or where product contact is to be avoided (e.g. out of health reasons with pharmaceutical pills or with acids).

Where placement of a sensor inside a tank is not possible due to the construction of the tank (too small / complicated) or where the environment inside the tank is highly abrasive, the Triflex offers a solution.

And for any company that wants to profit from less hassle and costs involved in installation (one-button set-up) and maintenance (easy access)!

Your advantages
Measure through glass or plastic tanks without risk of contamination, Perfect solution for small or complicated tanks and/or low dielectric, contamination sensitive or aggressive products, Insensitive to changing process conditions stimulating higher output, Easy access and much faster maintenance without interrupting your process and without risks of contamination, Save costs on additives, installation and maintenance, Insensitive to product accumulation on the walls.

Field Time Control (FTC) Technology
The Triflex LNI 200 incorporates the unique Field Time Control Technology (FTC). This new technology generates an electric field between a transmitting electrode and multiple receiving electrodes. The cycle time of the FTC level sensor changes as soon as the solid particles intervene this electric field.

Advanced multiple receiver circuitry is designed for adequately detecting various bulk products (like dry food products), even those with extremely low dielectric constants, by increasing the sensors’ sensitivity considerably. And still getting more signal with less variation for increased reliability and thus decreasing costs, increasing revenues and clearer insight in running processes.

Single efficient solution
Louis Ras, General Manager of Fluidwell Instruments: “With the help of FTC technology we developed a unique product that really makes a difference. The Triflex has been validated by several large manufacturers, including one of the biggest producers of pharmaceutical pills production machinery for the world leaders in healthcare. These product processes are out of health reasons so rigidly protected to avoid contamination and product contact, the Triflex has proven to be their single efficient solution to measure tank levels. They even redesigned their tanks for the Triflex! The additional benefits in efficiency installation and maintenance was very welcomed as a great bonus.”
